Dan Colen
Dan Colen è nato nel 1979 nel New Jersey; vive e lavora a New York.
Negli anni, la pratica artistica di Colen ha esplorato diversi stili e soggetti - spaziando dall’ astrattismo, alla pittura figurativa, e performance art. Nel corso di queste iterazioni di ricerca, Colen ha mantenuto un impegno costante nell'interrogare e rimodellare la natura semiotica della contemporaneità. Il suo lavoro esplora spesso la capacità delle opere d'arte di trasmettere simboli e significati, approfondisce il significato sociale dei mass media e del linguaggio subculturale.
Negli ultimi anni, l’indagine artistica di Colen si è ampliata fino a comprendere progetti di coesione sociale e di impegno nella comunità. Nel 2011, l’artista ha fondato Sky High Farm, un'organizzazione no-profit molto attiva sul territorio.
