From his constroversial performance works of the early 1970s to his complex installations and monumental sculptures, Chris Burden has been a point of reference of world contemporary art scene. Not only has the artist made a major contribution to the history of body-related performance art, but the artist’s fascination with systems of power, societal organisation, architectural structure and technological systems, have resulted in an extraordinary body of sculptural objects and environmental installations. Uniforms is an edition of 30 oversized police uniforms, created in collaboration with the Fabric Workshop, in Philadelphia, during Chris Burden 1992-1993 residency.
