To mark the fiftieth anniversary of lifting the ban on visual pornography in Denmark in 1969, ARoS and Kunsthal Charlottenborg in Copenhagen have joined forces to show the group exhibition Art & Porn. The exhibition highlights how art was influenced by changing the law on pornography. What are the implications when the boundaries of what citizens may be faced with in public spaces change from one day to the next?

John Armleder brings together pioneers of the Swiss art scene since the sixties, adhering to the epitome of primary abstraction and graphic geometry that originated in Switzerland in the second half of the century, with international artists working in the wake of this tradition, appropriating this heritage in their own, free and eclectic manner.
THE OBAMA PAINTINGS

Rob Pruitt began The Obama Paintings as a means of recording, and through recording, honoring, Barack Obama’s historic presidency. Beginning with the inauguration on January 20, 2009, each morning Pruitt created a two-foot-by-two-foot painting of President Obama, with particular imagery drawn from news of the day. The work was completed on January 20, 2017, Obama’s last day in office, and is comprised of 2,922 individual paintings.
Now on view at Stony Island Arts Bank in Chicago.

This is a story of experience shared and passed on, of enduring works created and lasting friendships forged, from Jean Tinguely to Keith Haring via John M Armleder.

Matt Mullican’s exhibition surrounds us with huge, colourful banners. We find ourselves immersed in a cornucopia of colours and signs that repeat themselves and cross- reference each other according to some law of their own in an abstract world that we are we are left to decipher.
